Bimbadeen is a beautiful grazing property overlooking Wilsons Promontory and Waratah Bay.
It is a working farm where we aim to produce quality lamb and beef for the restaurant and consumer trade.
Bimbadeen is home to a flock of around 1000 sheep 500 cattle, 50 deer, 6 alpacas and some emus, so lots of animals to feed.
We endeavour to maintain sustainable farming practises so that the consumer can be assured all the animals have been treated well and the farm itself is well cared for.
We offer people the opportunity to come and stay on the farm and experience farm life while having a holiday in a beautiful area close to the beaches of Waratah Bay and Wilsons Promontory. The cottage has commanding views out over lush farm land to the beautiful blue ocean of Waratah Bay.
Every day is different at Bimbadeen. The scene spread out before you is ever changing with the hour of the day and the weather, but it is always beautiful even when the weather is bitterly cold. For on these days you can snuggle up inside beside a cosy wood fire and still enjoy the beautiful scenery as well as a good book.
It is a great escape from the busyness of the city and a chance to experience a little of living on a working farm in the country. Unfortunately we cannot allow visitors to be actively involved in the working of the farm but they are always welcome to observe whats happening from day to day. The work varies from crutching lambs, shearing the sheep, assisting cows as they give birth, vaccinating calves and cows to the harvesting work with large machinery when we make hay or silage. Or it might be the more mundane like fencing or eradicating weeds, whatever, there is always something happening on the farm and it is all very different from anything you would see in the city.

The cost to stay on Bimbadeen is from $120 per night for up to 6 people. ( Peak season is $140 per night) so it makes for a very reasonable holiday for a family or a group of friends. It is only 2 hours from Melbourne which makes it an easy drive on Friday evening after work and you can return late on Saturday afternoon. There is lots to do in the area with many local art galleries, places to dine out, beautiful beaches and many other activities. See my hub on Fish Creek for more info on the area.
